Alfonso Gomez University of California, San Diego La Jolla, CA 92092-0530 Mr. Alfonso Gomez started his martial arts training in the summer of 1969. He started in judo and received his shodan in 1974. Sensei Gomez's karate training began in 1976 and he became affiliated with Ryuei Ryu Karate under Shihan Arashiro in 1992. At the present time, Sensei Gomez is a member of AAU karate program, he is one of the coaches of the national karate team, and is the chief instructor to theUniversity of California San Diego Collegiate Karate Team. He has been teaching at UCSD since 1986. In the past ten years, his efforts have produced many collegiate champions.
